Ohio State students are becoming the teachers, at least within the gym.
Personal training services through Ohio State's recreational sports program provide an opportunity for students to train other students or faculty through personalized fitness plans. Students who sign up are connected with a student personal trainer they can rely on for training as well as health and fitness information.
Students scrolling on Instagram Reels to escape assignments might have this solace interrupted by Block 'O's and Brutus on their screen.
It's no surprise considering that Ohio State's social media was ranked 12th overall and third for its TikTok by social media analytic tool, Rival IQ, when compared to other higher education institutions.
Students living off campus often gravitate towder houses with character, but they may not know the rich lore associated with their off-campus neighborhood.
Doreen Uhas-Sauer, president of the University Area Commission and off-campus resident since the 1960s, said a few of the oldest standout off-campus neighborhoods include Iuka Ravine, Northwood Park and Dennison Place.
Champion announced its newest innovation: Eco Future Reverse Weave with CiCLO® technology, a patented and science-based solution that allows synthetic textiles to behave more like natural fibers when they enter the environment.
Over 60% of today’s textiles are made with plastic-based synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon, which remain indefinitely in the environment because they are not inherently biodegradable.

There have been over 80 motor vehicle theft crimes in the off-campus area since September, according to Ohio State's Community Crime Map.
Though Ohio State's Undergraduate Student Government has made efforts to combat the problem by distributing anti-theft steering wheel locks, officials in Franklin County are now getting involved to help solve the issue. Judge George W. Leach of the Frankling County Court of Common Pleas said the ongoing theft in the off-campus area and beyond led to the formation of a new diversion program planned to be piloted in January 2024.
Keilah Thompson (Strategic Communication, ‘23) presented research on the Black Press at the Spring Undergraduate Research Festival at Pomerene Hall on April 6.

This program encourages students to propose a research project utilizing historical Black newspapers. Thompson’s passion for entertainment publicity led to her investigation of the coverage of Simone’s career by the Black press during the civil rights movement.
When Casey Smith (Journalism, ‘24) declared his education at Ohio State, he was “deathly afraid to get behind the camera." He does stand-up reports on-camera in The Lantern studio and on the football field in front of thousands of fans.
Nick Polavin, (Communication, 2019), now works as a jury consultant at IMS Insights in Columbus. Polavin received a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Communication from Ohio State.
